A pictorial of the last 5 months

June 2 - Here's the monster back in his earlier mishief days.
June 19 - We went on a family vacation to Sea World.
Besides loving to see Shamu Zach enjoyed the water park and...
Brandon finally fell asleep so that worked out well.
June 25 - Zach turned 5. He is way into Star Wars so he got his beginning collection of Darth Vader and other characters. This is what he calls his "normal smile."
I'm a little nervous about how his school picture is going to turn out. That's why I only bought the $8 package. June 27 - Zach had a super fun birthday party at a gymnastics place.
June 29 - His cousins were in town so we made our annual trip to NASA. If you ask Zach what he does in the summer he'll tell you, "I go to NASA" So, I better take him again next year. It will be our 4th time to go.
The other highlight of the NASA trip was they had a George Lucas thing going on so here he is posing with some of the Star Wars cast.
June 30 - We went to a water park with the cousins to beat the TX heat.

August 24 - My big little boy started Kindergarten...is it wrong that I didn't cry?!?!
Oh and Zach got glasses this summer as well. We've been told he looks like the little boy from Jerry Maguire and he tells us that now too. Here he is again fashioning his "normal smile." It's what he calls it by the way.

September 3 - Brandon hanging out in his favorite spot. The bathroom sink. His hair is wet because I had just given him a bath. Silly me forgot to close the bathroom door so this is where I found him. He climbs the steps and then hoists himself up there. I've learned to always keep that door shut now, but he has been able to open the doors so who knows what is in store now that he is getting more and more independent.

October 7 - My mom, sister and I with our usual crew minus Zach went to Old MacDonalds farm again. Brandon had a blast and I got some cute pictures of him.

I'm back-ish

I know it's been 5 months since I have posted and well, that's all I have to say about that. A lot has been going on around here. Zach turned 5 which means he also started Kindergarten this year. Along with that his mom decided to get involved so I am the Vice President on the PFO (parent faculty organization). That definitly has been keeping me busy. I'm loving it though because the President is one of my neighbors and she is a lot of fun to work with. Zach is enjoying his teacher. He thinks she is the best ever. I actually graduated from high school with her so I knew her previously. We both recognized each other and it was weird for her to have a kid in her class that was the child of someone she went to high school with. Brandon is doing well. He's a crazy kid that gets into everything. He has the most sweet and innocent face, but I still call him a monster. You don't have to spend more than an hour with him to understand that one. I think Brandon is waking up from his nap now so I have to wrap it up (sorry) but at least at let anyone who still might check my blog know that we are still alive. I'll try to post pictures soon.

Happy Birthday Brandon!!!

Yes today my baby boy turned 1. The whole last year has seemed like a fog, but aparently one whole year has passed. So the birth certificate says. The day went well up until after an hour of not being able to fall asleep for the night I went into his room to give him one last hug and he throws up all over me. He hasn't been eating well lately. He is on half and half and whole milk combined bottles to increase his calories as much as possible. We saw the GI last friday and since B isn't back on his original curve we need to increase his calories and help him gain weight. We did blood work and donated some poop samples and everything came back normal. He has not been interested in food for the last few days so I don't know if the half and half is too heavy or if he has just been in the beginning stages of getting sick?!? Everything is in constant motion around here. I realized that it had been a while since I had even checked anyones blogs. I don't know what else to say. We are seeing the regular doc tomorrow morning at 9. We'll see what they have to say. I spoke to the nurse tonight and they weren't sure if it was the diet or a virus. If I were a good mother I would have a picture to share, but I never charged the battery! I assumed that it wasn't dead since I don't take pictures all that often anyways! Luckily my father-in-law had his camera! Alright so that's it. I won't probably give any updates til next week because at the moment I'm planning to go visit my aunts and cousins that live a couple hours away. I hope everyone enjoys Memorial day weekend! Wish me luck!!!

The Boys Crazy Antics

These first two are back from February. As you can see Brandon's hair is still long and he hadn't eve begun to crawl with his belly off the floor. However, I always wanted to post these because they crack me up. Zach would hold on to Brandon's feet and try to have him take him for a ride. I like the first one because you can tell Brandon is really trying to move. Luckily it never really ticked him off too bad. I think Zach would help him with the extra weight.

The Boys and I had fun playing with their hair one day. As you can see Brandon is always coming after the camera.

Well, Zachary really got started putting water in his hair and I helped him finish. Luckily he wasn't making too much of a mess and I knew he was just exploring his world and no, it hasn't happened again.

We're obviously celebrating Tyler's birthday here. I love this picture.

Someone found a chocolate Easter bunny...
and LOVED it.

Zachary had a performance at school. Isn't he so handsome?

Here he is with his teacher getting his Pre-K certificate. He still has a month before school is out. I assume they handed them out because all of the parents were already there.

Here's B-dawg from that night. Handsome too, right?!?
Here's Brandon on a typical high chair night. Super messy and don't you love the little foot prop thing he does? He's silly!

Zach likes to take a bath with Brandon in the evenings.
Brandon is coming for the camera again.

The above picture has a story to it. One day I heard Brandon wake up from a nap and then shortly after I heard Zachary on the monitor too. I waited a little while and tried to listen, but I wasn't sure what was going on. I assumed that Zach was on the floor entertaining Brandon like I have found before. So, I decided that I would open the door and take a picture of whatever I could. And well this is what I got. Zach had obviously climbed in with Brandon. And the smile on Brandon's face is the smile I get every time I go in to his room to get him after he wakes up.
I'm so glad that my boys are already such good friends. Brandon's face doesn't light up for anyone the way it lights up for Zach (not even me). And the joy and excitement that Zach displays anytime Brandon achieves a new milestone is priceless. Tyler has already told Zach that he'll make a good husband one day because Zach gets more enthusiastic with me than he does! I'm grateful for my boys and I hope that their friendship will always continue to grow.

Valentines and Rodeo

Here are the boys and me at Zachary's Valentine's party at school.
I had one of the moms take our picture so that I could post about it at Valentine's so let's just pretend it's still February okay? This picture makes me laugh because I had been taking tons of pictures of Brandon and Zachary comes over and says, "I'll be in just one okay mom?" I love how he just knew I wanted a picture of him too. Only because of previous photo sessions where I had tried to get a cute picture of the boys together and got zero!
Here is Zachary at his school for Rodeo Round-up. (I've mentioned in precious posts about Go Texan! day and such.) In this picture he is doing the Chicken Dance. I had to post this especially for his Aunt Michelle!

Here the whole class is doing the going round part...still the Chicken Dance.

Here's Zachary with his Uncle Joel at the Houston Livestock Show. He greatly improved from last year and actually petted the horse. My parents got interviewed and were on the 5 o'clock news. I had my mother-in-law tape it so that I could see it! It maybe lasted 5 seconds.

And at the carnival all Zachary wanted to spend his tickets on were the games, not the rides. He tried first to win a large Spider man, but that game wasn't easy. Then we found this game were every player won something. However, Zachary wanted the large prize that you had to get a blue chip for. There were only 3 blue chips in the sea of 30 plus. Somehow, we pulled out a blue chip and he won his Batman! This was probably the highlight!

Christmas

I'm just trying to catch up here. I know this is way over due, but since I hardly post pictures I thought some of you wouldn't mind no matter what time of year they were from!

Brandon's first visit with Santa.Picking out the Christmas tree. A fun tradition I thoroughly enjoy!
(Even if we just go to Kroger to pick it out!)
Zachary entertained us while Tyler went inside to pay for the tree. He sang a song he performed later at school. He's even doing the hand motions for me. He sang: I want to be a Christmas tree with lots of colored lights on me. A shining star that shines so bright...(that's the motion he's doing and I can't remember the rest!)
Our annual family picture in front of the tree after we have finished "trimming" it.

This year it actually SNOWED in Houston! Here Zachary is showing how it actually stuck by the fence. I called a few of you to exclaim my excitement for Zachary and myself to see snow. It was kinda nice because Brandon was napping so Zachary got to run around for quite a while. Supposedly it has snowed after every big hurricane has come through so here's to another hurricane next year!! (Just kidding!)

Check out those flakes!I told one of my neighbors, "I'm gonna build a snowman!" She said, "Yeah, good luck with that!"

He gives Santa Baby a whole new meaning!

For the last time...HE is not a GIRL

First of all Brandon was weighed yesterday and gained almost a whole pound in less than 2 weeks. That was very exciting news!! And as opposed to saying Brandon is failure to thrive I have deemed him failure to grow because he surely is thriving. However, the one place that Brandon has continually grown is his hair. It has gotten quite long. Even before it was so long people would assume he was a girl. Never a question in their minds they would just refer to him as a girl. Sorry people he's a boy. Maybe it was the dresses I had put him in that confused them?!? I'm kidding of course! There were times that I felt he couldn't be in a more "boy" outfit, but they always looked past that and saw his sweet little face and figured he's a girl. I finally had my last straw the other day and I said I'm gonna finally give him his first hair-cut and that's what we just did! Hopefully there will be no more confusion! Here he is in his before and after shots. Please forgive him for being in just a diaper. I didn't want to dress him just so that I could take his clothes off to go cut his hair! But check out those rolls!! (They are there you just have to look really close.)
Before

After

Before

After

Zachary wants you all to know that Brandon didn't cry on the buzzer part. Something that at almost 5 years of age Zachary still does. I keep thinking he'll grow out of it!
