A mix of stories

Wow, it has been over a week since I've posted. I knew it had been a while, but I didn't realize it had been so long. Tonight my brother and sister-in-law came over for dinner. They will be moving to Dallas soon and we are sad to see them go. I'm trying to get together with them as much as I can before they leave. Zachary was so excited to hear that they were coming over. He started playing with them before they even arrived. He was running around the living room telling me the things that he, Ethan and Emily (his cousins) were doing. "Mom, Ethan and Emily are flying airplanes with me!" I thought that it was kinda funny. Once they arrived Zachary became close to uncontrollable, well pretty much he was uncontrollable. He was wild and rambunctious like I've pretty much never seen before. Luckily, we have gotten together often enough that they know he is generally more quite and passive, but he was a wild man.

We have been house shopping A LOT lately! No purchases to announce. We have a couple of months before we'd even be close, but Zachary LOVES to go look at houses. (Thank goodness because this poor boy gets dragged all around Houston.) His favorite thing is a house with stairs. We almost feel obligated to buy a house with stairs because he thinks it's so much fun. One of the model homes we went into had a Lightening McQueen (the main character from the movie Cars) in the game room. Now, every house we go to, Zachary thinks there will be a Lightening McQueen up stairs. Zachary also is under the impression we are buying the house for him. Of course buying your first home can be difficult financially and one time Tyler asked Zachary if he would rather have a house or a lot of toys. I wasn't really sure what his answer would be, but of course it was the obvious answer, a lot of toys.
(Jessica - It made me think of the conversation we had on Sunday...I guess since we are 'buying the house for him' it will be his house to have one day! Too bad I got the swimming pool...that thing really isn't movable. For those outta the loop the Grand Piano was bought around Jessica's birthday so it was considered one of her birthday presents so she hopes to have it in her house one day which is fair since she can actually play it. Me, not so much! The pool was put in around my birthday and was called one of my birthday presents that year...obviously that is not something I can have in my house one day and I'm not a very good swimmer so I probably don't deserve it anyways! Doggy paddle anyone? I'm an expert at it. I did get the most improved swimmer award when I was on swim team. You know what that means...I had to be really bad to be most improved.)
Back to the topic of Zachary thinking everything is his, this is another funny story. Zachary always refers to the car I drive in as 'my car.' As in Zachary's car. One time Tyler had taken the car to run an errand and Zachary had looked out the window and saw that the car was missing. He began to exclaim, "Oh no! My cars gone! Daddy took my car!" I thought it was funny to hear him be so concerned about 'his car.'

Who needs a dog when you have a visually attentive child like Zachary. I'm so proud of him being so concerned about "His car". He sure makes me laugh with his funny little thoughts.....like his mama.

Perhaps, my dear Julie, Jessica may permit you to take the precious little baby grand made of Swarovski crystal that we got in Austria the year we went with grams.

Love,
grandma

I could take the mini baby grand, but that was bought specifically for Jessica as the baby carriage was bought for me. I don't want to relinquish the rights to my carriage! Plus, isn't the lid broken off on that thing? Great, I don't even get a baby grand in mint condition! I'll just drain the water out of the pool and take that with me!

If you have the tenacity of your mom, which some days I see you do, then you go ahead and drain the pool and take it away. You just need to leave the spa until we go, Joe.

Furthermore, you still reserve 100% rights to your carriage. Perhaps you would like the wooden carriage that was in grandpa’s family and he use to play with as a boy. It’s worth a lot I imagine. Now, about the piano not in mint condition, I will gladly restore the piano back to it’s pristine condition if you so choose to whisk it away, OK Jose?
