Unbeknown to most I have actually attempted to begin potty training. Nothing hard core, but I've made some efforts nonetheless. Yesterday, I was laying on the floor with Zachary reading a book. He decides to move to a squatting position...a sign that something intestinal is going on. I hear a noise so I ask him, "Do you need to go potty?" Of course he tells me no. I hear more tale tale noises so I ask him, "are you going poop?" This time he responds in the affirmative. I then ask him if he would like to finish on the toilet. He tells me, "No, I want to go on the floor." Luckily, he had a diaper on so he wasn't really going on my floor!
Another story unrelated to the toilet...
Zachary has had terrible allergies really most of his life. They have been flared up for the past month it seems so he has been taking a myriad of medications in hopes to keep his nose clear. He generally is a very good medicine taker however he does have his moments when he acts like most children when it comes to medicine. I had given him his first medication and he took it just fine however it went down a little funny so it made him cough. I waited a little bit and went in for the second one and of course he turns his head and says he doesn't want it. His suggestion to me was, "How about I take it tomorrow mommy?" He's learning the Art of procrastination early. (The bold art was for you mom. Pun intended in every way.) All Zachary knows is that tomorrow is generally a long time away.
