Just a post
I realize it has been almost a week since my last post and I'm starting to feel a little guilty. So, you will be able to feast your eyes upon something new even though it really won't be that exciting! Our latest excitement here in the Stevens' home is the fact that I finally was able to schedule an appointment with a dermatologist for Zachary. He has had terrible dermatitis on his chin since last April. We have had moments where it has come and gone, but it is typically there. One not so intelligent woman once asked me if he had measles! Are you kidding me?!!? Well, even though I know it doesn't bother him, it completely bothers me. I feel so terrible for him every time I look at it. I'm sure most other people are so absorbed in other things that they barely notice, but sometimes I feel like it's all I see. So, now that he's been off the pacifier for almost a month. (Have you heard?) And it hasn't cleared itself anymore. I figured I would call our pediatrician and tell her that the new stuff she prescribed 2 months ago isn't working. Luckily she had told me that if this stuff didn't work she would give me a referral to a dermatologist. One would only hope for a referral to a specialist after 3 different prescriptions!! I called around to all these different ones and they were all booked until May and beyond. I didn't realize that dermatologists were so far and few between...and in such high demand. My pediatrician's nurse finally helped me locate one downtown that would most likely be fairly open...which she is available on Feb 27! I know you would think the ones that are completely booked would be the one to go with, but this one is actually at Texas Children's Hospital. Which I assume means she focuses primarily on children...just what I need! Hopefully, I won't get lost, but after going to the zoo and the Children's Museum I am feeling a little more confident about navigating downtown! So, there you have it...nothing that exciting, but it's very exciting to me!
