Sk8r boy

After a long day of fun, Zachary and I decided to go for a walk around our apartment complex. It always seems to calm him down and help him relax. Also, it's the only form of exercise I actually enjoy. Upon returning from our second time around there was an 11 year old boy outside practicing tricks on his skate board. Zachary enjoyed watching him so I stopped and asked the kid if he minded if we watched him. Of course he said it was fine. I parked Zachary in his stroller and I sat on the crib and we watched him attempt trick after trick. He actually landed a few, but after each trick whether he landed it or not Zachary would exclaim, "Great job!" It didn't take long until Zachary wanted to skate himself. Lucky for us I happened to have a little toddler size skateboard up stairs. I told Zachary to wait for me and I would go get his. I brought it down and I propped Zachary up on it with his Vans skater shoes and everything. I held his hands and wheeled him around. I did try to teach him how to make turns by pressing his foot down on the curved up part. I'm sure it has a name, but I enjoy watching the sport more than doing it myself. It didn't take long however, for Zachary to hop off and tell me, "You do it!" I quickly told him, "Mom, is not a skater." So, Zachary took a few more turns and decided to sit back down and watch the novice professional. After a moment of listening to the kids wheels on the pavement, Zachary decided that they sounded like a snake. The best part was Zach shouted out, "Hey guy, your skate sounds like a snake!" I loved it. He continued trying to talk to the kid who wasn't within earshot, but Zach would always refer to him as guy. That has been one of his latest words and I love it. Whenever he is talking to Tyler and me he has started referring to us as guys. "Guys, come in here!" or "Hey guys, you wanna play basketball with me?" Even though he has such a big vocabulary it's always fun to hear him say new words. I guess my friends from out of Texas would be surprised that he's not saying y'all. As a matter of fact I'm kinda surprised too!
ps Sorry I didn't capture a picture of Zach skating, but had I let go of his hands he probably would've broken an arm.
And a side note for Deanna: I know you are thinking of the time at the Colony when I tried to skate on Mike's board. That's why I didn't even try to skate for Zach.

I love how he refers to you guys as "guys". I think that's so funny! You should definitely help him to develop his skateboarding talent. Don't we all love skater boys?
