Goin' Comando!

The past few days I've had a bout of yuckiness. I don't know if my allergies became extremely inflamed or if I caught a cold, but thank goodness I'm the only one in the family suffering. Of course that left Tyler to parent most of the weekend. I got to lie in bed trying to feel better. One day Tyler decided to take Zach out for a while so I could get more rest. Ty picked out Zach's clothes and Zach took it upon himself to get dressed. What Tyler didn't realize is that I always put a clean pair of underwear on Zach every morning. I guess since Zach didn't see any with his clothes that he figured he just wouldn't put any on. Zach must have been excited to go out with Dad so that's why he dressed himself. He does however know where his underwear are located so it's a mystery to me why he chose not to put any on. Of course later that day Tyler helped Zach use the restroom and he became aware that his son was without your basic undergarment. They came out of the bathroom and Tyler says, "Did you know he hasn't had underwear on this whole time?" I'm thinking you're the one who dressed him why would I know that? Of course I'm the mom I should know everything right? The first thing however that really popped into my head was, "That's my boy!" As a young lass of about the same age my mom would often do a panty check as we were heading out the door for church. "Julie do you have your underwear on?" (Picture a little girl holding up her dress.) "NO!!" Well, not always was it no. Often enough, however, that I've heard this story more than once. Zach does enjoy the free wind down there and if he were allowed he'd roam the house like a king with no pants on. I try to encourage the wearing of pants, but there are some moments that I just let him go free, at least until daddy gets home. Whenever dad does catch the little one naked he's always quick to say, "We can tell he's your son!"

I am definitely a fan of being naked myself (I think we've had these conversations before) so it will be hard to teach the kids modesty and that they must wear clothing even when it's hot and even if they're inside. So, did Zach take off his underwear from the previous day? Or was he just not wearing any to bed?
Oh and I hope you're feeling better :)

Underwear and pajama pants always come off in one swoop. Of course I put little underroos on him the night before.
Has Charles woken up to find random clothes strewn across the floor that he did not assist you in taking off? And the conversations weren't necessary. We were able to witness it being roommates for as long as we were.

Ha! That's what it was! I knew you knew about my likeness towards nakedness but as I read your comment I remembered the "What are you pants doing on the floor?" situation and various others. And yes I still do that. I've always had hot flashes since I was 16 (esp while sleeping) so when I get hot it's off w/ the clothes!

Is this still a problem with you?? Are you still running around without underwear?!?! I don't know how I feel about this, kind of grossed out and yet I find myself wanting to do the same... strange feelings, I don't know what to think! I do know that everytime I change shelby's diapers without fail she tries to get up and have "nakie time" sometimes I let her but Lena doesn't like it, and neither does Paul.

I wish I could run around without underwear still, but with a growing boy in the house and a 3 year old I find that it's better that I cover myself up. That cracks me up that Lena is uncomfortable with Shelby's nakedness. She's a lot like her mother...she being Lena not Shelby. And I say let Shelby run free. As long as she and Zach aren't running around nude together in 14 years I think they are just fine. We should at least let them do it while they can! Not together still...it's hard anyways with all the miles.

One would say in a situation as this, "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree", but Grandma Junie says, "the panties don't fall far from the...".
Good story and thanks for sharing.
