Happy Birthday!
So, the time has come to celebrate another birthday. There have been so many birthday's this summer that Zach definitely has the song down. However, the cue to sing the song is a nice yummy cake. Well, today was my mom's birthday...you never disclose a ladies age. Unfortunately, we weren't able to celebrate it with her. We had everything prepared and we were on our way to "Grandma's house and Papa's house", as Zach calls it, when we found out that she was in Beaumont. Her dad is not in good health so she is there to be of any assistance that she can. Even on her birthday...coming from a woman who thinks it should be declared a work holiday. As in she should not have to do any work on her birthday. Well, Zach and I still headed over there so that I could deliver my mom's cake and her present so it would be waiting for her when she returned home. Poor Zach was stuck having to eat the scrapings left in the bottom of the pan and left over icing. Although, I told my dad if we called Grandma and told her that "Zach" was dieing to have a piece of cake that she would say, "Oh, whatever my baby needs." But unfortunately we were left drooling...makes for an extra moist cake! Sorry Mom! We did have fun over there nonetheless. Zach once again got to play with his new playmate, Baby Jaeden. One of Zach's favorite things to do is bear crawl right behind Jaeden as he scurries along. Even when Zach was crawling himself he hated to put his knees on the floor. I see that nothing has changed there. But the best part was when I had Jaeden sitting on my lap. We were reading a book together and of course Zach started to get mad. Jaeden decided he was done, so he crawled off and Zach instantly plopped right down. I guess he wanted his mommy back. Maybe that's one thing he's not interested in sharing just yet. Well, it was a fun day even though the guest of honor was missing. We left the cake unscathed...so Mom, when you get home, if there is a dent in the cake it's Dad or Jessica's fault! But of course it left me hungry for a delicious piece of dessert. And poor Tyler calls from work and says, so I guess you didn't get to bring home any of the cake did you?!? So, I had to make a cake for us. Luckily, I'm the factory. So for dessert tonight we had cake. And the best part was when I sat the cake on the table Zach instantly began singing "Happy Birthday to you!" We have this boy trained!! But who says you need a birthday to have cake?!?
