Sweet Cousin

Now I know I really shouldn't brag about my baby boy, but what else is this whole site dedicated to?!?! Tonight we went to dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday. Happy 60th Dad!! And it was really nice. Unka Joel as Zach calls him, Aunt Jess and Baby Jaeden, as he has been dubbed were there. Sadly we were missing the Hundt clan, but I'm sure there will be many stories to come since we will be getting together in November!! So back to dinner...being the sweet little boy that he is, Zach keeps trying to hand his Thomas train to Jaeden so that he can play with it. Nobody understood what Zach was trying to do so he gets off Grandma's lap and walks over to Jaeden and drops Thomas in Jaeden's lap. Zach sees that it makes Jaeden happy and he stands there for a while watching him play with it. Zach then decides to show some affection to his baby cousin so he places both hands on the back of Jaeden's neck and pulls Jaeden to him and says, "Kiss!" Zach then proceeds to give Jaeden a kiss. It was pretty funny and very cute. Then as we were all saying our goodbyes, Zach in Papa's arms and Jaeden in his Dad's, Zach reaches out his arms to give Baby Jaeden a hug goodbye. I think he really likes Baby Jaeden. But who couldn't, he's such a precious little baby. I added pictures that my mom took when the boys were playing at the mall the other day for those of you who haven't seen my sweet little nephew!

I also want to share another story that I just love, since I'm thinking of my nephews. Zachary and I had the wonderful privilege of getting to go to North Carolina in May this year to visit Aunt Jackie, Uncle Gregg, Davis (5) and Wilson (18 mo. at the time). When we first arrived Zach was exhausted because we had flown from Utah and our flight left at like 7 am. And of course Zach had no intentions of napping the whole time. Of course Davis and Wilson were super excited to see us and we were greeted with the warmest welcome. Davis had even packed extra toys for Zach to play with on the car ride home. Zach's car seat was positioned between Davis and Wilson's and that's what made for an interesting ride. Davis kept handing things to Zach and Wilson kept wanting certain toys. Of course Davis would defend Zach and make sure he had what he wanted. And poor Zach being in the middle was totally confused and bewildered. Mostly due to pure exhaustion I'm sure. Who wouldn't want such great company and friends in the back seat?!? But Zach was still unsure. We had a wonderful time the whole week we were there. But my absolute favorite part was watching the boys on the car ride to the airport when it was time for me and Zach to go home. Wilson and Zach had earlier in the week begun a tradition of playing "5" with each other. Wilson would hold out his hand and say "5" and Zach would slap his little hand and give him 5. They would both giggle and do it over and over. A perfect game for 2 toddlers to play. So of course they were playing "5" on the way to the airport. I think Davis was trying to feed Zach some of his pretzels and they were all sharing snacks and listening to stories together. They all looked like they were right at home. It was so neat to watch such a 180 degree difference from the day we arrived. That's why I know they all can't wait to be together in November. Zach sure is lucky to have such awesome cousins.

Sweet sweet stories, even though I was there to enjoy so many of them together. I really appreciate you including Zach's little cousins. I, too, think Zach is so precious the way he already loves Jaeden, Wilson and Davis. Can't wait to get together with all of us in November. Of course, grandfather and I may come home broke, but we might check out of life the next day which would certainly make it all worthwhile to have spent your inheritance.
Love, Grandma Junie
