Words

This morning Tyler was playing with Zachary on the computer. They were building something on the Thomas website. Whenever Tyler finished putting the picture together Zach say's to him "Good Job!"
Yesterday we were at the store and Zach was holding something that we were going to buy. We get to the check out and I'm putting all my stuff on the counter. Zach hands over the item and say's "pay for it." In a sweet tone, not demanding. Of course he was acknowledging that that's what we were goinig to do. I don't know if it's sad that my child knows all to well about putting things on counters to "pay for it." Or if I should be grateful that I don't have a screaming kid when I take something from him just so I can have the lady ring it up. But Zach has understood the term "pay for it" since he was probably a year old. I'm sure in his mind it is one word...payforit...and the definition being hand to the lady and then I can leave the store with it.
Another funny thing he says is the word need. Zachary needs everything he never wants it. Although periodically he will say the word want, 98% of the time it's need. "I need up on the bed." "I need doughnuts." "I need hammer." "I need candy." I guess Great Grandma Mittelstaedt never would've won with him. She always told me you have to decifer between the needs and the wants. Well Zachary realizes that he needs everything. "Pay for it."
And since were on the topic of words, the one other word I seem to be hearing a lot lately is "Mooooooommmmmmmyyyy". Mommy this and Mommy that. It definitely is music to my hears and most times it makes me smile. The best time was when he was supposed to be taking a nap and he hadn't fallen asleep yet. I had made a little noise outside of his room and of course the next thing I hear is, "Mommy, Mommy." But he sure does call for me a lot.

Wow, your post are so great. They really express your love for Zach, and are so entertaining. I think your puntuation is fine, of course I can't even spell so you have to take that with a grain of salt. Zoey(I'm still thinking about changing the spelling of her name so I'm trying it out.)misses her friend Zach. Some times we look at pictures of him and she says,"Zach coming?". Coming is her new word now. This is my first comment on any blog. We miss yall, Ameris

P.S. I know that the medical comunity will advise you otherwise, but just let him have that pacifer, he will be done with it all by himself soon enough.
