The Creative Mind of a 2 Year Old

Today when Zach woke up from his nap he shared with me this elaborate story of how there was a snake in his bed. I do have to say from the beginning I didn't really believe him. I did have a small question of what if there really is a snake or some crazy little critter. However, to take all the suspense out of the story no snake or any creature to its likeness was found anywhere in Zachary's room. However he did go on about how there was a snake in his bed. And of course to keep the conversation rolling I asked him, "there's a snake in your bed?" Of course Zachary tells me "Yeah! I hear it!"
Mom: "You hear a snake in your bed?"
Zach: "Yeah!"
Mom: "How did the snake get in your bed?"
Zach: "It came through the window."
Mom: "The snake came thru your window?"
Zach: "Yeah! I saw it!"
Mom: "Oh, okay."
This truly was our conversation and I don't think I even added any words to make it less confusing. He actually said every statement above. Upon conversing with Zach's Papa we decided that it was possible that he saw one of those pesky little lizards that we occasionally find around here. But I really think this was all part of Zach's imagination. The even better part was when we were talking about the story to Tyler when he got home. Zach decides to tell him all about the snake. He even started using high pitched voices to impersonate the snake in his bed. I didn't catch what the snake said though. I don't know why he chose a snake to be his imaginary friend, but this actually wasn't our first encounter with the said snake. The other day in the car Zachary starts telling me that there is a snake as he's pointing to his foot. Of course I'm in the middle of driving and I assume that maybe he's talking about the Van's logo on his shoe cuz it's a little squiggle like thing. No, he tells me it's on his sock. So I take off his shoe doing the best too look for this little snake thinking maybe it's an earwig or some small thin bug, but nothing was to be found. I'm starting to think it's just his imaginary friend. The Snake!
