Play Date

Last Sunday I decided I would begin to branch out and try to make new friends in Houston. Since as of right now all of my friends are either blood related or have the same last name as me. I asked this girl at church if she and her daughter would be interested in coming over to play this week. I thought it would be a good way for me and Zach to begin making some new friends. I knew they wouldn't magically appear, I would have to do something about it. Luckily she accepted and we set one up for this morning. She has an adorable little girl named Claire who was born only 1 month before Zachary. When they arrived the first thing Claire pointed out was Thomas (the tank engine). Zach of course then had to pull out every train he could find so he could show them off. Claire kinda knocked Zach off of his ride on Thomas as he was trying to show her how it worked, but of course you can't expect a lot out of a 2 year old, she was just excited. However, after they played trains on the track, and her mother told me how much her daughter loved trains, I knew right then that they would be best friends. Anyone who shares a love for Thomas is at the top of the list in Zachary's mind. After an hour together they finally warmed up to one another. Zach showed her how he loves to dance (a.k.a. running around in circles). So the two of them just giggled and giggled as they spun around. They would laugh at each others movements and laugh at the fact that they were laughing. Towards the end the two of them were snacking on yogurt covered pretzels and you could tell they were worn out since they had both decided to just lay on the floor to eat. All and all Zach and I had fun and I suppose they had fun too because her mother invited us over for this Thursday. The even better part is that I like Claire's mom and I can see us being friends too.

I'll agree that Tyler was the one that taught Zach how to count to 16. Remember he is the accountant in the family.
