The toothbrush incident

I've been in the kitchen slaving away at my traditional Christmas treats. For a while now I've made Chex mix and Chex Muddy Buddies. Tyler's life wouldn't be complete without those muddy buddies. They are one of his favorites and since I only make them at Christmas that's probably why he likes them even more. He didn't know I made them today so it'll be a nice surprise when he gets home tonight. I also started a new tradition last year of making candies. Sorry Dad, I didn't have enough energy for the turtles yet, but they will be here by Christmas. Have no fear! And Angela (my mother-in-law) wants to learn how to make them. So she will be helping, which means I should be able to make more than I did last year. They break my back literally in a pain way not actually broken, but they make both of Zachary's grandfathers oh so terribly happy so I will continue to make them every year just for them. I did however make the candy cane bark so that's out of the way. I'll be sure to put some in a separate tin for Grandma Junie and Papa because I know they enjoyed it last year. Anyways, enough about me. I know you all come here to hear about Zachary anyways. Yesterday I had a terrible mishap in that I scalded my right hand. My whole index finger and half of may palm were aching the entire day. No joke from 11am when it happened until at least midnight when I was finally able to fall asleep due to the massive pain I was hurting. Long story short I spilled some water out of a boiling pot onto it. Yes, this is pertinent to Zach's story. Luckily Tyler came home before Zach was in bed because bathing and the likes were a little difficult when my main hand was in need of being continuously soaked in a bowl of ice water. If it was out more than 5 minutes it felt like it was on fire again. Tyler got to do the nightly routine that I have done every night for the past 3 1/2 years minus the times he has had sleep overs else where. To side track...I remember once I had asked Tyler to put toothpaste on my toothbrush for me and I thought it was odd because he puts the toothpaste on first and then wets the toothbrush. I on the other hand wet the brush first and then apply the paste. I never knew that such a difference would be called to our attention by someone else. As Tyler prepared Zach's toothbrush for him, he did as he always does, paste first and then water. However, he got in trouble for doing it wrong. "NO, water first and then toothpaste!" Tyler wets the toothpaste and Zach expected Tyler to add more toothpaste. Tyler had to point it out to Zach that there was toothpaste on the brush. Of course Tyler looks at me and asks if I do it that way? (I'm thinking we've been married for 5 years and you don't remember that I do it opposite from you? The only explanation is that he's a guy.) But I had to say to him, "yeah, you don't remember?" And he tells me you want to wet the toothpaste and I tell him the toothbrush absorbs more water if you wet it first. It was a pretty funny situation. Oh and mom, don't worry I'll make you a batch of chex mix too. I don't want to hear you cry about it. I also won't admit that dad really loves it too and maybe that's why I bring it over. Last year though I think Dad got to eat it all because you had just had gum surgery. I think you created a way to make it work anyways.

That's an awesome story. So have you converted Tyler to your ways yet?

Jill,
You've been a busy little cook. After all the weight Dad and I are putting on here in Cancun, good food like chex mix will be welcomed. Of course, the rest sounds great too. Your Dad is glad Tyler's Dad (rhyme's?)likes turtles as much as he does because he'll be more guaranteed to receive some on a yearly basis. I think Angela shouldn't learn how to make the turtles because it will lessen your Dad's chances of getting them annually.
About the toothpaste situation: I'm wondering who stressed who out the most, Tyler or Zachary?
Jill, are you not receiving our emails? We've sent 5 and are getting them returned.

1 week down and 1 week to go. Chucky Cheese here we come!!!
Love, Mom
