The New Baby

So for those of you who haven't received my Christmas Card yet...that should be no one...there is an impending bundle of joy. Zachary has known for quite a while now and he is excited about the idea of having his very own baby in the house. I'm not so sure how excited he will be once the baby comes home and steals all the attention away from him, but for now we talk it up like it's this great and wonderful thing because, well, it is. Zach decided a while ago that the baby has a rattle in there. Of course it only makes sense. This was a conversation over heard in our car a few nights ago. I hope it's as accurate as possible because it was so funny.

Z: Mom, I can hear the baby crying. I think he dropped his rattle. Actually he throwed it.
M: Did he? Oh that's too bad. I'm sure he'll get it back.
Z: Yeah, he just wants his rattle back.
M: Ok.
Z: Now the baby is crying really hard because he wants out of your belly.
M: I'm sorry the baby isn't big enough to come out yet. We have a while before he'll be ready to come out.
Z: Aunt Tori's baby was big enough to come out of her belly.
M: You're right he was big enough to come out, but our baby isn't that big yet. Are you excited about having a baby at our house?
Z: Yeah, I want my baby brother to come out so that I can hold him and make him happy.
M: You will be such a good big brother to hold the baby and make him happy, but we still have to wait.

I'm sure there was more dialogue than this, but it was really funny to hear Zach say so much about the baby. My favorite was definitely when the baby was crying really hard because he wants out. For those of you who were wondering why we refer to the baby as he and Zach calls it his baby brother is because we are 85% sure it's a boy. At the 3 month ultrasound the lady looked and it appears that we will be having another boy. We won't be 100% until the end of January, but according to Tyler, "There's no way that thing is falling off." and "That thing is bigger than mine." However, if it is a little girl she'll be sad to know she started off bigger than her daddy and that we assumed she was a little boy for a while. If I had a scanner I would show you, but as I've mentioned before we aren't up to date with this century as of yet. One day maybe. For those who still don't know how this could turn into a girl, all babies start out looking about the same. At 3 months in the womb the little girl is very swollen and it eventually forms in and the little boy obviously stays out. So, there you have it. I'll be sure to keep you updated when I find out more!

Julie Kristen! I already left you a message on your phone but I can't believe you non-chalantly mention this like it's not the BIGGEST news in a long time! Congrats! 3 months? Are you due in June again? May? I hope you have a girl so I can buy you cute stuff!
