Kids say the darndest things!

Sorry that my blogging has been on a short hiatus. I really don't have a valid excuse. I guess it was part because I knew my mother wasn't going to be checking it often since she is in Beaumont. Her dad has passed away so we will all be heading there for the funeral. He was a great man and I have wonderful memories from when I was a kid. The best definitely being when he helped us climb the pole. It was a banister in the center of the living room, one of those support things, I forget the correct term, but when we were little he would help us climb to reach the ceiling. That was definitely the highlight of going to Nana and Papa's house, besides getting to see all of my family. Now I can touch the ceiling by just holding my hand up, but when you're a kid there's nothing better. I'll have to help Zach climb the pole one day.

Now back to stories about Zach...the other day I was looking at the current events on MSN and I saw the story about the Pandas in China. I thought Zach might like to see the pandas so I called to him and asked, "Zach, do you want to see some pandas?" He replied, "Yeah, in a sec." It did take him a sec, he had to do a thing or two first, but he came. I thought that was pretty funny.

Yesterday he was playing with one of Tyler's 2-liter bottles of diet coke that was practically empty. (No fear, we have an endless supply thanks to my dad!) I decided to take a sip so I picked up the bottle and as I'm doing this Zach looks up at me with his hands in the air and says, "Mom, oh please, stop!" It was really funny. I gave him his bottle back, after I took a sip.

Another thing I've been wanting to post about and I just haven't yet is Zach's new labeling system. A little while ago my sister Jackie kindly sent Zach some of her boys shorts they have out grown. Even though they are 2T they somehow fit. Every other pair of shorts Zach wears are 12-18 mo. He's a little boy. But I put the new shorts on Zach and was telling him all about how they were Wilson's shorts. So now everything we own is Wilson's. For a while he would say he needs Wilson's this and Wilson's that. If we point to my shoes and ask him whose they are he'll say mommy's, but if we point to a pair of his shoes he'll say Wilson's. It's pretty funny, but everything is Wilson's around here.
Except for one thing...Zach has now begun to label Tyler as My Daddy. Zach will point to Tyler's picture and say "My Daddy." I'm not sure when he decided to start naming him that, but he's oficially my daddy in pictures. He doesn't call him that when he's talking to him, just when you ask who is that? "My Daddy!"

I'm glad you shared the blog with me in Beaumont. I'm sure you wanted to burst laughing at the "Oh Mom, please stop", with the coke. Re: the pole. I totally forgot that Papa not only allowed you to climb the pole, but he assisted you to the top. What a Papa.
Love, Mom
