I always knew that Zachary picked up on manners quickly. He learned "Bless You!" when someone sneezed and he is always good at saying Thank You. (Although lately he says thank you mom and generally it works, except for when he says it to Tyler.) The one thing I tried to teach him the other day was to say excuse me when someone was in your way. It was definitely one of those things I didn't expect for him to really pick up on for a while, but boy was I wrong. Today while we were at the store looking at some things this little girl was in his way. He just steps around her and says "Excuse me." When I heard him say it I was definitely shocked, but for some reason this little girl kept stepping into Zach's space so again he moves out of her way and says "excuse me." Of course this was all in a very nice tone not sarcastic...I'll hold off on teaching him that one!! But I was pleased to hear him being the little gentleman that he is.
Another great milestone today was I heard Zach sing his ABC's. He sang it all the way through and it was perfect to me, but of course I'm his mom! I know it may come as a shock to many of you that Zach has never sung his ABC's. He has sung every other song from Frosty the Snowman to Ring Around the Rosies, but for some reason his mom failed at teaching him how to sing his ABC's. The really bizzare thing is that he's been able to identify every letter of the English alphabet for months. Normally it happens the other way around, they sing and then they identify. We like to do things a little different at our house!
