We celebrated Ty's birthday last Tuesday and he turned 27. We had a big celebration on Monday night because his parents weren't able to come over on his birthday.
I put 27 candles on the cake. Isn't it more fun that way? I wasn't in the mood to do anything special. It's kinda sad that I make nice cakes for everyone in my family, but my husband. But also I know that Tyler prefers to put his cake in milk so why go all out when it's easiest for him to scoop it out, put it in a bowl, and pour milk over it. (Don't ask, but his dad does it too.) Zach was very proud of the candy decorations he picked out.
Oh and I kinda hadn't charged my battery yet so when I tried to capture a picture of the boys blowing out the candles the camera wasn't working. They did a re-pose for me!
I let Zach pick out a remote control car for Ty's birthday. It was more for Zach than Ty of course, but I still got in trouble for not buying a bigger one. I was trying to go cheap, but the Silverado monster truck just wasn't good enough I guess. And there was a picture of a Jeep on the box so I got to hear, "Why didn't you get this one?" Tyler has been looking at Silverados lately so I thought he would like the Silverado. Apparently his life long dream will forever be to get a TJ. No, don't expect anymore Silverados to join our family anytime soon or TJs.
Karin we'll have to talk soon as I know you will find this and more of it very humorous. Gotta love that Ty.

Now for my story: We are edging closer and closer to 30 and our faces apparently are edging closer and closer to 20. I bought Zach some cough medicine and the guy at the register asked if I was 21. I said yes would you like to see my id. He said No I believe you. I then said I'm almost 27 (I have less than 6 months now and whenever Tyler turns 27 I seem to think I'm 27 too. It makes it hard though because I go 5 and a half months thinking I'm 27 so when my birthday does come I'll wonder am I turning 27 or 28? Yeah, I'm not the brightest crayon in the box!) When the guy heard that he said whoa I thought you were like 18. Of course my belly looks like I swallowed a watermelon and I'm buying children's cough medicine (Zach was in school) let's just hope I'm older than 18 please.

I love the little blerps just for me!!! Oh by the way I AM the first one to comment!!! YEAH! Well happy birthday TY!!! The big 2 7 it's big deal!! are you sure he's only 27 though?!?! hmmm that is shocking to me for some reason... I'm crazy though so just ignore me. Someday I bet Ty will get a jeep. I know just go and buy one on day that his in-laws come over and add it to the driveway!! Why not?!?!? Money trees grow in Texas, don't they? I will call you soon... maybe even today!!!
I hope Tyler knew that I remembered his bday :) I have felt like I was 27 since Christmas and I don't even have a reason why to anymore, so I know what you mean. Comments like you look 18 will probably mean more 10 yrs from now but currently they seem weird huh?
Great re-pose on the picture of blowing out the 27 candles.
I remember Martin and never knew its name, however I do remember when the topham's were teasing about little ole grandma riding in the back seat when Ty was rock crawling with me in it. He couldn't miss it that much with gas prices the way they are today.
Hope his day was great!

That's awesome that you looked like you were 18 at the medicine counter. That's great! (Wish I looked that young!)
